ENCODE Third General Assembly Meeting in Vienna

On 8–9 May 2025, the ENCODE consortium gathered at the University of Vienna for the project’s third General Assembly Meeting. This two-day event brought together all partners to review progress, share insights, and set the stage for upcoming activities.

The meeting provided a comprehensive overview of developments across all work packages, with each partner presenting their results and reflecting on contributions to the overall project goals. Key discussions focused on how the progress achieved thus far—ranging from theoretical advances to empirical research—feeds into the broader ENCODE framework of exploring emotions in politics.

In addition to reporting on completed work, the consortium used the Vienna meeting to introduce new activities and research directions that will shape the next phase of the project. These include both upcoming academic publications and expanded collaborative efforts to strengthen ENCODE’s impact across policy, research, and public engagement.

Hosted in a vibrant academic setting, the meeting also offered partners the opportunity to deepen collaboration and refine strategies for dissemination and stakeholder engagement. By combining rigorous research with proactive outreach, the consortium reaffirmed its shared commitment to advancing knowledge on the role of emotions in democratic governance.
